Thank you Milwaukie Daze 2011 Volunteers and Sponsors!

The Milwaukie Daze Parade and Festival has been one most valued Milwaukie traditions since 1972. The City’s annual festival has been called many things throughout the years, including "Milwaukie Daze", "Centennial Days" and "Riverfest". What hasn’t changed, though, is that Milwaukie Daze would not happen without the intense efforts of the volunteers who work so hard to plan and staff the event and the sponsors that financially support the event. Very special thanks to the following people that made Milwaukie Daze 2011 happen:

Ed Zumwalt was the primary organizer of event and spent hundreds of hours making this event possible! Bette Arne was this year’s parade organizer and spent over 100 hours making the parade a success! Val Hubbard and Lisa Bentley assisted with parade staging. Dave Aschenbrenner and Frank Aguerra helped with vendors and set up. Jeff Davis, Eric Griswold and Coral Natta from artMOB volunteered as parade float judges. Kristi Dodge from Life Christian Center helped organize the field games and all their volunteers. Gabe Storm of PDXdesigns donated all the design work for the Milwaukie Daze website, logo and flyers. Beth Ragel with the City assisted with numerous logistical items.

Milwaukie Daze 2011 also would not happen without the financial contributions of our sponsors: Celebrate Milwaukie Inc. is the leading sponsor of event. The Mill End Store was second lead sponsor. Milwaukie’s seven neighborhood associations sponsored the fireworks. Life Christian Center brought 100+ volunteers for the 4th year in a row! PDXdesigns--provided graphics and website design and hosting. The City of Milwaukie provided staffing especially the Milwaukie Police Department, Police Reserves and Police Cadets who provide over 100 hours of staffing time to help keep the event safe. Milwaukie Rotary Club helped with parade logistics and clean up. Portland General Electric, Clackamas Federal Credit Union, Waste Management, Bernard’s Garage, and Providence Health Services also gave generous donations.
